Adaptive Hockey

We believe...... Hockey can enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families. Having fun is a priority.... not an option. Hockey Helps people to come together in all aspects of life. People across a wide variety of ages, skill levels and range of their disabilities can be shared by sharing the ice surface in both training and competitions.

In fostering a safe and inviting practice and game environment. Who we face in competition are the same ones who help us succeed on the ice so we are kind to opponents and ourselves. Offsides and icing are great hockey concepts...just not for us The scoreboard is a device best used to keep game time.

We believe that conducting true Sportsmanship is showing a good attitude towards each other and towards the sport of hockey. Always do your best. learn and grow from the experience. be respectful, show fairness and honesty. All pregame speeches should mention one or two references about Sportsmanship. Goals are fun but assists are even better.

Coaching is about transforming, creating new methods to teach, affecting behavior in a positive way. Regardless of only being in junior high school and high school our mentors help remind us of the value of volunteering time to help those who need it the most, while forming new relationships in the process.
